Ozlem Aliyazicioglu Yeni

Ozlem Yeni, a visual artist and gallery owner with over 25 years of diverse professional experience in the art world, has gained worldwide recognition. Her artistic pursuits have spanned multiple horizons, including solo and group exhibitions across Turkey, Japan, Australia, and Albania.

She has made significant contributions; her work, with its superior quality and enduring appeal, has left an indelible mark on the global art scene. Throughout her career, she has influenced artists globally, with her artworks showcased and sold in prestigious galleries, exhibitions, and private collections.

Being of Turkish origin, she pursued her education in her homeland.  Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honors) degree in painting from Suleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, in Isparta, Turkey.

Ozlem continued her studies while working as an academic for 18 years, sharing her knowledge as a lecturer in Theatre Stage Design. She earned a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Theatre Stage Design and Construction from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Performing Arts, in Izmir, Turkey.

Motivated by a desire to further her artistic practice, which had already seen solo and group exhibitions across Australia and worldwide, she decided to transition from academia.

Her next chapter led her to the Australian Outback, where she conducted workshops in her art studio, contributed to the Queensland Music Festival in Mount Isa, Australia, and collaborated with the Mount Isa Regional Art Gallery.

Following her relocation to Adelaide, South Australia, she launched her new art studio and art gallery, “The Main Gallery,” in the heart of the city. Notably, this became the first art gallery opened by a Turkish artist in Australia, reflecting her passion for art and commitment to nurturing a diverse, global art community.

Ozlem has held various roles, including Visual Artist, Lecturer, Curator, Gallery Owner, Art Director, Stage designer, and Costume Designer. She has authored numerous publications, articles, and research papers and boasts extensive experience conducting workshops and presentations, as well as serving as a judge for international competitions.

After living, creating, and working in Australia for nearly a decade, she and her husband recently relocated to the USA. Today, as an artist who has realized many of her dreams and with over twenty-five years of experience in the art business, her latest ambition is to establish an Art Foundation.
